The man who made Bette Page famous again then worked the rest of his life to make sure that she had royalties and drove her around.

I never thought that Bette Page, now in her 80's would outlive Dave. But she did, I'm sure to her sadness and regret. Dave Stevens for those who may not remember him did a sensuous cover of Bette Page for a comic book and soon after Bette Page fever gripped the nation. But she wasn't getting squat for her image being used. So he spent a lot of time and money making sure that she got her fair share of her royalties.

Dave Stevens passed away of Leukemia at age 53 on March 10th. He never told anybody in the media. The only people were a small circle, including who knew was his ex-girlfriend Laura Molina.

It's sad to see so many talents dying at such a young age. I'm beginning to wonder if it's environmental exposure to toxic chemicals.
