| Synopsis of Brokeback Mountain: Two guys find gay love in 1963, but decide it would be too shameful to come out, go back to suburbs, marry, have kids, but find excuses to get out of the house and go back to the mountain, have trysts year after year, denying who they really are, trying to fit their gay selves into a straight world until one of the wives finds out. Heartbreak all around. Not in a rush to see it, because I lived it. Except I was chased out of the house, I figured it out before too long, many idiotic denials ensued, and I left. Ex still hasn't come out. But sneaks off to DuPont Circle. 13 year old daughter figured it out, too. Too dreary to be made into a movie.
Moral of reality: Come out. I support you being gay. It's okay, really. But don't marry to try to "straighten" yourself out. It's not fair to the spouse. And who cares what your mother thinks. She's a loudmouth pain in the ass anyway who chases everybody away with her rigid religious views.
Oh, and unlike "A Million Little Pieces" I did not make any of this up. Really. Truthfully. *sighs…*
And Oprah: Shut your fat trap. We all know the only reason why your defending a lying author is because you don't want egg all over your own face. You're not a kingmaker. you're not a king. You're an entertainer. Deal with that reality.
